Rules of Engagement

Creating Home Base
The Board itself:
  • The Board should be at least 6’ long by 4 foot wide to provide ample gaming space.
  • Each team will create their own board ensuring us a variety of playing spaces.
  • The board, when finished should be able to be transported to Andrew’s apartment in order to ensure a central location for gaming.
  • The board should be in pieces easily stowed either behind the couch or in a closet.
  • Boards should be a team effort and should be split in cost and time by both players.
Terrain:
  • You may choose any type of terrain you would like. Remember if you have a specific rule set for terrain, they apply across the board for both teams playing on the board.
  • Non-Base Buildings may be brought and stowed safely after each gaming session.

Your Home-base or outpost:
  • In you starting hexagon you will have one central command. You may use a fortress of redemption and or build your own base of operations. The following restrictions are in place:
    • Base must fit on your board
    • Base can be no larger than the Fortress of redemption.
    • Base cannot be any further armed than the Fortress of Redemption
  • Outposts are smaller headquarters you may choose to build in the other hexagons you may take throughout the course of the campaign. You may build the outpost with the following restrictions:
    • Outpost must be smaller than the Home Base
    • Outposts can be no larger than an Imperial Bastion.
    • Outposts may not be any further armed than an Imperial Bastion.

Rules for Home Base
Max size: 3x3
Home Board design and game play rules are to be determined by the defender, but must pass the approval of the other planet’s players. (Ithaca determines Miranda etc.)

Rules for Uplink Outposts
Max size 1x1
Points added determined by the 6th edition rulebook

Defender gets 1 Frontline asset (Apoc)
Attacker gets 1 battlefield asset (Apoc)
Every 750 point difference is an extra asset for the player with the lower point value.

Rules For Army Creation
You get 30,000 pts to create your army. Only use models you have but you may use the model more than once to reach 30,000 pts. These 30,000 pts will be divided into army groups to expand your territory. Each tile you conquer will give you 100 additional points to spend on troops, Warlord Experience, or assets for tiles. You must keep at least 1 unit (no matter what class) on a tile to control the tile.
  • You should divide your army into army groups using the blank apocalypse data sheets. If you need one. I will send it to you.
  • More units can be added with earned points. Placed on any controlled tile at time of purchase.
  • An additional 50 pts will be awarded to each side for controlled objectives and Victory Points earned.
  • If a unit is wiped out, it is gone until repurchased. But the the entire unit must be wiped out, otherwise it is put back to full strength for the next game. (Tank squadrons are included)
  • You must have a written army list, both for the 30,000 point over all list and for each Army Group.

Rules for Battle
  1. You may invade any adjacent tile.
  2. If tile is occupied you fight a battle. Using whatever force you have in your tile to fight enemies in the adjacent tile. On a roll of a 4+ adjacent allied or controlled tiles may send units to reinforce the attacking or defending player. (Remember 1 unit must remain behind to control the tile.)
  3. A defender may choose to pull his troops back in a strategic retreat before the game if he so chooses, therein resigning his claims to the tile.
  4. Winners keep the tile, losers move to the nearest allied or controlled tile.
  5. Points are awarded to both sides based on objectives, victory points and total tiles controlled.
100 pts per tile controlled per turn
50 pts per objective or victory point in battle.
  6. Enemy Capitals are worth triple for the invading force. This represents the strategic value of the capital to the attacker.
300 pts per capital per turn
150 pts per objective or victory point captured by attacker per battle. (Normal 50 for defender)
  7. Unoccupied tiles can be automatically acquired by adjacent armies unless two armies stake a claim. See rule 2.

Rules for Air Battle Groups
  1. Air Battle Groups Must consist of only flyer units.
  2. Air Battle Groups automatically benefit from the “Scheduled Bombardment” Asset in the Apoc Rule Book.
  3. Air Battle Groups may ignore normally impassable terrain (Lakes etc.) When moving from one tile to another. Additionally Air Units may move over two spaces to attack.
  4. Air Units are fast to deliver support, to represent this, Air units may reinforce a tile on a roll of a 2+ rather than a 4+. The Tile must be within two tile spaces.

Your Warlord AKA YOU
  1. You can use any basic HQ. Upgrade according to the codex.    NO CHARACTERS IN THESE GAMES AT ALL. NONE. ZIPPO. NADDA!
  2. 100 pts per upgrade follow the chart in 6th edition from 1-6. 100 pts to raise from one level to the next. (They do not keep the previous trait, but can have 1 from each column).
  3. All Warlords start with no traits.

Prices for Assets and Upgrades
  • Upgrade Units with Tactical Assets from Apoc Rulebook 50 pts per. (If unit is destroyed they lose assets)
  • Upgrade Outposts in Controlled tiles with Front Line and Battlefield Assets from Apoc Rulebook for 100 pts per. (If you lose the tile the assets are considered destroyed.)
  • Upgrade Army Groups with Support Assets from Apoc Rulebook for 100 pts per. These are 1 use only assets. They can only be used for one game, so use them wisely.
  • Upgrade on any of the warlord traits for 100 pts per movement in a column. A Warlord may have one trait from each column, determined by upgrade.

Achieving Victory!
To win, you must:
  • Conquer the opposing teams for control of your planet. The one with the most tiles at the end of 6-8 months (from kick off) or who totally annihilates all enemies is the victor and named “Lord Militant Governor” of the planet.
